Casey Lee Waldron


CLWCasey-Lee Waldron recently graduated, with Magna Cum Laude honors, from Southern Methodist University, where she studied Sports Management, Sports Media, and Dance. She is a 7-time National Solo Dance Champion, who grew up in Bucks County, PA, just an hour’s commute to NYC, and the many, amazing dance opportunities it offers. Casey started dancing at the age of two, and has trained and performed in multiple styles, including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, tap, acro, modern, world/ballroom styles, and musical theater.Among the many wonderful dance experiences Casey has been blessed to have, a favorite would be touring with “The Pulse” as a Junior Protégé, assisting and performing for world-renowned choreographers Brian Friedman, Tyce Diorio, Cris Judd, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, LaurieAnn Gibson, Shane Sparks, and Dave Scott. In addition, Casey was highlighted on SYTYCD Season 9, securing a ticket to Vegas, where she was a top 50 finalist. Other favorites include being a featured dancer on MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16” series, Lane Napper’s GapKids Industrial, and Scary Movie 5’s choreographer’s reel, starring Usher. At SMU, Casey was one of nine dancers selected by Shen Wei (internationally renowned choreographer of the 2007 Beijing Olympics’ opening ceremonies) for his world premier piece “A New You”.Casey has been fortunate to train on scholarship in NYC at Joffrey Ballet’s Jazz and Contemporary Program, ABT’s Jose Manuel Carreno’s Intensive at Peridance, Joe Lanteri’s NYCDA, Broadway Dance Center, Steps and numerous master classes with DMA and DEA. She has also trained on scholarship with Desmond Richardson’s Complexions Intensive, and a host of other master teachers across the country. Casey was part of the amazing family and competition team at her home studio, The Dance Academy (TDA) in Holland, PA, where she trained under the direction and care of Donnajean Kline, BJ Byrne, and Cathy Greco Whalen (“42nd Street” on Broadway and National Tour).Casey has taught and choreographed for her home studio’s (TDA) competition team winning numerous awards, including top 5 at Nationals and a National choreography award. In addition, her choreography was one of ten numbers selected to perform in the annual Southern Methodist University (SMU) Brown Bag Dance Series. Casey was also the captain of her varsity high school cheerleading team, for which she choreographed their championship winning Dance Cheer routines.

At SMU, Casey was awarded the Meadows School of the Arts Dance Talent Scholarship and the United Methodist Leadership and Academic Scholarship. She was also named to the Dean’s List and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She was honored to be selected as a Teaching Assistant for both Professor Millicent Johnnie, of the Dance Department, and Professor Susan Holland, of the Sports Management Department. In addition, Casey worked as an On-Camera Sideline Reporter for Fox Sports’ Pony Stampede, and was the Game Day Host/Sideline Reporter for SMU Football and Basketball.

Casey is excited to be part of the HPDC family where she will be teaching Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical Ensemble. She looks forward to working with all the wonderful dancers at HPDC, and sharing her passion for dance!
